Much of Los Angeles was built before 1978, when lead-based Paint was still sold for homes. Lead dust from sanding or scraping is a serious hazard, especially for young children. Federal rules require renovation, repair and Painting work that disturbs lead Paint in pre-1978 homes to be done with lead-safe work practices.
On these jobs we contain the work area, minimize dust, protect soil and Landscaping, and clean and verify the area before the containment comes down. We then repaint with modern coatings. We completed a Lead-Safe Paint Removal and full exterior repaint on a Los Angeles home.

If your home was built before 1978 and the work will disturb painted surfaces, assume lead Paint may be present unless testing shows otherwise. Lead-safe practices are then required.
